YIA SOU MARKOS DERIVISI MOU!

The Disciples of Markos play Rebetika songs from the hazy hashish dens of the 1930's GREEK UNDERWORLD. Rebetika was the music of dopers, thieves, whores, and all sorts of unsavory characters. The Disciples play in the style of Markos Vamvakaris, who was the most famous singer, songwriter and the heaviest, most stoned-out bouzouki player of the 1930's. The Disciples also play songs by Batis, Skarvelis, Tsitsanis, Papaioannou, Delias, Peristeris, Keromitis, Dalgas, Halikias and other rebetika greats.

Dinos Demakos-vocals, glass, bouzouki
Dmitri Mavra-bouzouki, santouri
Debbie Bernakis-baglama
Allegra Legopoulos-guitar
Jiorgos Roulemos-tzoura
Kosmos Gervisis-accordion, violin, baglama, glass
